Due to my love of making people smile, Kolohe Kupkakes was created. I wanted to create Kupkakes that reminded me of my childhood and share those with my family and friends. Family recipes like Red Velvet and Carrot Cake to flavors like Guava, Haupia, and Lilikoi and of course flavors only my kids could think of, S'Mores and Banana Split.

Double Chocolate Red Velvet Kupkakes

I was in one of those experimental moods and decided to change up the Classic Red Velvet.  I made it with more of a chocolate base this time.  Any chocolate lover would not protest.

This kupkake is an extra chocolatey Red Velvet kupkake with a cream cheese filling.  It is frosted with white chocolate and chocolate sprinkles.

My husband of course killed this in 2 bites.  I asked if he any objections.  Just one...he wanted it dipped completely in the white chocolate.  Next time hun, next time.

Friday

Long time away...sorry

Sorry I've been away.  I have been baking though.  My latest creation was a birthday cake for a very special person.  This person doesn't like attention, so I won't say who they are.  However, I will talk about their cake.

I made a Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cake with a Chocolate Cool Whip Frosting.  Why a Cool Whip Frosting? Because the Chocolate cake was already sweet, so I wanted to balance it out with a light frosting.

This cake was a simple chocolate fudge cake with macadamia nuts mixed in.  It ended up being a 4 layer cake.  The cool whip frosting is one of my favorite frostings to make because of its simplicity and light taste.  I am not a big sweets type of person.

Wednesday

Upside Down Caramel Apple Cake

Another recipe I had to try.

I had some apples that I knew I had to use soon. So I of course decided to make a cake. One of my favorite treats is a Caramel Apple. Combine that with a cake and you get this delicious treat...the Upside Down Caramel Apple Cake.

It consists of a moist pound cake that is covered with sliced apples drizzled in caramel. You can see the caramel drizzling down into the cake. My son decided to top it off with some cool whip. That put a big smile on his face.

Banana Split Kupkake

Now I saw a version of this on TV and my best friend asked me to make it for her as well.  I figured it was a sign that I needed to make it.

This kupkake starts with a banana kake topped with a whipped cream frosting.  I then sprinkle chopped nuts on top and drizzle melted chocolate over everything.  The cherry is of course the added bonus!

A little messy, but so yummy!

Red Velvet

Aww the family recipe...

These are my kids absolute favorite!  Unfortunately I can't give too many details on this one because it's a family recipe.  What I can tell you is that it is a rich Red Velvet Kupkake with a simple Cream Cheese Frosting.

This kupkake is what started me on my little adventure...

Tuesday

Banana Won Ton

I had one single banana left this morning. But I had a craving for something sweet. Not being in the mood for a cupcake (plus not having enough bananas to make any) I decided to make something else.

So I sliced up the banana and placed them between 2 won ton wrappers. Fried them up, and what I got is pictured above.

You can eat them as they are or you can drizzle some chocolate over them with a little creme fresh on the side.

Vanilla Kupkakes

These Vanilla Kupkakes are probably my simplest, yet one of the most delicious Kakes I have. Its a simple vanilla kake topped with a vanilla butter cream frosting.

My kids love when I bake these in ice cream cones and add rainbow sprinkles.
